Red carpet rolled out for Ministerial visit
Hot on the heels of the launch celebrations at Phoenix Square, Phil Hope MP visited the development on Friday 20th November. Mr Hope is the Minister for the East Midlands and was keen to hear how the project had been developed, regenerating the St George’s area of Leicester and helping to reinforce the city’s aspiring Cultural Quarter.

Members of the partnership team briefed Mr Hope on the capabilities of the building and how each different element, from film and digital media, through to private homes, office studios and the development of Leicester’s creative industries, would work together to form a vibrant, new community in creative neighbourhood.

Mr Hope said: “Phoenix Square is a stunning example of what can be achieved with regeneration and it was great to get the chance to explore what this innovative development has to offer.

“It is a unique building which manages to bring together cinema, a digital gallery, office studios and apartments all under one roof. It is another addition to Leicester’s increasingly impressive Cultural Quarter and it is testament to the vision and creativity of those partners who came together to make it happen.”
