Iconic Science Park is new home for Association

The spectacular new No.1 Nottingham Science Park is to become the base for the Nottingham Branch of the British Science Association.

The group have selected the eye-catching eco-icon, completed by specialist regeneration developer Blueprint last year, as the base for its member meetings.

The British Science Association holds science communication at the forefront of its purpose so No.1 Nottingham Science Park, which is designed to promote interaction and joint working between tenants and users, is an ideal partner.

As well as housing a range of high-tech companies and organisations that use science in their work, No.1 Nottingham Science Park is also opposite the Faraday Building – home to ‘Mad Science’ – and the University of Nottingham, and is only a short distance from both Nottingham Trent University, also occasional users of the facility.

Geoff Parsons, chairman of the Nottingham Branch of the Science Association, said “We are delighted that Blueprint has agreed for No.1 Nottingham Science Park to house our branch, and I think the venue, as well as being a superb new science development for our region, is the perfect base for our branch to base itself and enable us to bring more science outreach to the general public of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.”

No.1 Nottingham Science Park is the spectacular focal point of Blueprint’s £50 million, 12-acre extension to Nottingham’s existing Science Park. Speculatively built, featuring leading edge “green” technology and showcasing world class design, No.1 Nottingham Science Park demonstrates massive commitment by Blueprint to ensuring Nottingham is recognised internationally as a place for key science and technology enterprises to do business, and as somewhere that new innovative enterprises can grow.

Blueprint has worked with a range of partners on No.1 Nottingham Science Park, including emda, Nottingham City Council and Greater Nottingham Partnership, and the project was part financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The boardwalk was part financed by emda as public realm.
