In Detail Back
Blueprint has appointed architects for an “ultra green” housing project aimed at transforming a small corner of Embankment area in The Meadows.
Architects with a track record in environmentally sustainable regeneration competied to design the development on the former Trent Bridge Primary School site.
Blueprint hopes the scheme will act as an “exemplar” development of around 38, three to four-bedroom homes that will “raise the
bar” by their green credentials and design quality, and attract other developers to
invest in the area.
John Long, Development Director at Blueprint, said: “We have set the architects a massive challenge. These homes have to meet the sort of green standards other developers are just dreaming of. They have to be cheaper, funkier, cleverer and better than anything else in Nottingham.”
The development will represent a major new investment in the area and is already attracting significant interest from potential purchasers - ahead of any formal marketing.
“From a development point of view that's fantastic - but, to be honest, not hugely surprising. There are a lot of modern, enlightened people out there who care about the planet. They're also increasingly design conscious. These homes will be among the greenest ever built, architect designed, a stone's throw from the River Trent, and a short walk from all the amenties of West Bridgford town centre."
said John Long.
Construction is set to begin this summer.
Savills have been appointed as agents.
