Blueprint’s Trent Basin celebrated at prestigious awards

The team at Blueprint were delighted to be awarded Sustainable Development of the Year at the East Midlands Bricks Award earlier this month for their pioneering work at Trent Basin.

Business Link Magazine’s annual East Midlands Bricks Awards recognise and celebrate those behind the changing landscape and the exceptional development activity being carried out across the region.

The ground-breaking Trent Basin development has come some way in the past year in tackling sustainability and renewable energy and seeing our dedicated work and devotion to the reducing carbon emissions at Trent Basin celebrated at the Bricks Awards is superb.

Earlier this month, we were delighted to sit down with Henry Gallacher, Development Executive at award sponsors JLT Specialty, to receive our Sustainable Development of the Year award and discuss how we are creating a new kind of neighbourhood at Trent Basin in Nottingham, where renewable energy is at the core.

Housing, as across the UK, is a hot topic for Nottingham, with house price growth and various regeneration projects taking place across the city. In addition, Nottingham City Council is taking a positive stance to encourage sustainability as part of regeneration initiatives and we, at Blueprint, are pleased to be at the forefront of this change, leading the charge with smart technology and renewable energy.

From the design of the low-energy homes to the introduction of renewable energy technology through Project SCENe, the team at Blueprint has been instrumental in putting Trent Basin on the map as a low energy community.

As a result, nearly all of the homes in Phase One are now occupied and Europe’s largest community energy battery was installed just last month, paving the way for residents to take part in this exciting energy pilot project that could be rolled out UK-wide.

With numerous phases still to be built, we are excited to see what the future holds at Trent Basin and will continue to pursue innovation in energy and smart technology, as well as urban design and architecture.
